Cheetah

Iconic for their blazing speed, cheetahs are the fastest land animal and can reach speeds of up to 70 mph. While they aren't as large or strong as other members of the big cat family, cheetahs are incredibly specialized and effective predators.

• History: Unlike many other large cats, cheetahs rarely show hostility towards humans and are known to be fairly sociable. Because of this, throughout history many different civilizations have seen and interacted with cheetahs, thus incorporating them into their folklore and art. Sadly, cheetahs have recently been classified as a vulnerable species due to a large influx of illegal poaching.
